Driver Seriously Injured In US 50 Crash

In Moniteau County, a 19-year-old from Tipton, Missouri is seriously injured after the at-fault driver failed to yield to her vehicle.

On July 2, 2013 at approximately 2:35 p.m., Eleanor Barbour, age 69 of California, Missouri was operating a 2008 Ford Expedition. Morgan Carlson, age 19 of Tipton, Missouri was operating a 2003 Toyota Matrix.

At that said date and time, Eleanor Barbour was traveling in the southbound direction while Morgan Carlson was traveling in the eastbound direction on US Highway 50 at Flag Spring Road. The crash occurred as Eleanor failed to yield to Morgan’s vehicle and collided into her passenger side.

Morgan Carlson received serious injuries from the collision and was transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital. Eleanor Barbour did not seek medical treatment.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both Eleanor and Morgan were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.

Eleanor Barbour’s 2008 Ford Expedition received extensive damages and was driven from the scene of the crash. Morgan Carlson’s 2003 Toyota Matrix received total damages and was towed by Stockton Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop F and the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office.
