Teenager Seriously Injured In Head-on Collision

In Callaway County, a Portland teenager is seriously injured after the at-fault driver failed to yield to her vehicle.

On July 30, 2013 at approximately 4:32 p.m., Daphne Sayler, age 37 of Fulton, Missouri was operating a 2004 Pontiac Montana. Ashtyn Golet, age 18 of Portland, Missouri was operating a 2007 Suzuki Reno.

At that said time and place, Daphne Sayler was traveling in the eastbound direction as Ashtyn Golet was traveling in the westbound direction on Route O and 1.3 miles west of County Road 131. The crash occurred as Daphne was making a left turn into a private road and failed to yield to Ashtyn’s vehicle. Both vehicles collided head-on.

Ashtyn Golet received serious injuries from the collision and was transported by ambulance to Boone Hospital. Daphne Sayler did not seek medical attention.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Daphne Sayler was wearing her seat belt but Ashtyn Golet was not.

Both vehicles received extensive damages and were towed by Tom & Steve’s Wrecker in Fulton, Missouri.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop F.
