Deer Collision Seriously Injures Motorcyclist

In Lawrence County, an Aurora man is seriously injured after he collided with a deer in the roadway while driving his motorcycle.

On September 22, 2013 at approximately 8:55 p.m., Douglas Gonseth, age 54 of Aurora, Missouri was operating a 1997 Honda VT1100 motorcycle.

At that said time and time, Douglas was traveling in the northbound direction on Lawrence 1210 and two miles south of Aurora. The crash occurred as Douglas attempted to avoid collision with a deer in the roadway but failed and was ejected from his motorcycle.

Douglas received serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Douglas was wearing safety equipment while operating his motorcycle.

Douglas’ 1997 Honda VT1100 motorcycle received extensive damages and was towed by Hillbilly’s Towing of Marionville, Missouri.

This motorcycle crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop D.
