Linn Driver Failed to Stop at Red Light

In Franklin County, the at-fault driver failed to stop at a red light and rear-ended another vehicle, seriously injuring the driver.

On October 24, 2013 at approximately 2:40 p.m., Walter Voss, age 89 of Linn, Missouri was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. Jerry Kimbler, age 40 of Gerald, Missouri was operating a 2011 International.

At that said date and time, Walter Voss was traveling in the westbound direction as Jerry Kimbler was traveling in the northbound direction on Missouri Route 100 at Route M. The crash occurred as Walter failed to complete a stop at a red electric traffic signal and rear-ended the driver side of Jerry Kimbler’s vehicle.

Walter Voss received serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur by air evacuation helicopter. Jerry Kimbler was not injured and did not seek medical assistance.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both Jerry Kimbler and Walter Voss were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.

Walter’s 2007 Chevrolet Silverado received total damages and was towed by Sturm’s Towing. Jerry’s 2011 International received moderate damages and was towed by Vogelgesang’s Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop C.
