One Fatality and Six Injured in Four Car Crash!

In Barry County, four vehicles are involved in a crash after a vehicle crosses the center lane.

On October 23, 2013 at approximately 6:30 a.m., Jennifer Moerer, age 34 from Wheaton, Missouri was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblaszer with passenger Greyson Heatley, age 3. Antonio Luna, age 73 of Rocky Comfort, Missouri was operating a 2003 Ford Ranger. Amanda Walker, age 27 of Purdy, Missouri was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu with passenger Lukas Walker, age 34 of Wheaton, Missouri. Suzanne Morin, age 34 of Butterfeild, Missouri was operating 1998 Dodge Durango with passenger George Luna Nunez of Butterfield, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Jennifer Moerer crossed the center line and struck Antonio Luna head-on. Jennifer’s vehicle then struck Amanda Walkers vehicle. Amanda’s vehicle rotated out of control causing it to cross the center line and be struck by Suzanne Morin vehicle.

Lukas Walker was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County assistant corner Charcle McManus and taken to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Antonio Luna, Amanda Walker, and George Luna Nunez all received serious injuries and were airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Suzanne Morin received serious injuries and was airlifted to Cox South in Springfield. Jennifer Moerer received moderate injuries and Greyson Heatley received minor injuries. Jennifer and Greyson were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol all were wearing their seat belts besides Antonio Luna.

Jennifer’s 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer received total damages and was towed by Brices Towing. Antonio Luna’s 2003 Ford Ranger received total damages and was towed by West 60 Auto. Amanda’s 2005 Chevrolet Malibu received Total damages and was towed by Wilson Towing. Suzanne’s 1998 Dodge Durango was totaled and towed by US Auto.

This auto crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop D. This is the 94th fatality for Troop D in 2013.
