Pedestrian Killed in Clay County

In Clay County, a pedestrian is killed along northbound I-35.

On December 3, 2013 at approximately 5:10 p.m., Domonique Clark, age 21 of Kansas City, Missouri was operating a 2007 Gillig Bus along with Kelyn Marion, age 24 of Liberty, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Domonique was traveling in the northbound direction on I-35 and .1 miles north of I-29. The collision occurred as Charles Turman was walking along northbound I-35 when Domonique’s vehicle collided into him.

Charles Turman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Jackson County medical coroner, Ryan Cashatt, and then transported to the Jackson County medical examiner’s office. Kelyn Marion received minor injuries and was transported to Liberty Hospital.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kelyn Marion was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.

Domonique’s 2007 Gillig Bus received moderate damages and was towed by Area Transportation Authority.

This pedestrian crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop A. This is Troop A’s 54th fatality crash and 64th fatality.
