Serious Injuries in Johnson County Crash

In Johnson County, a man in his early 20s is seriously injured after another vehicle turned into the path of his vehicle.

On November 22, 2013 at approximately 3:00 p.m., Jacqueline Homer, age 20 of Warrensburg, Missouri was operating a 2005 Mazda Tribute. Brian Whitaker, age 24 of Knob Noster, Missouri was operating a 2011 Toyota Camry.

At that said date and time, Jacqueline Homer was traveling in the eastbound direction as Brian Whitaker was traveling in the southbound direction on Missouri 58 at County Road SW 150. The crash occurred as Jacqueline was making a left turn from County Road SW 150 onto Missouri Highway 58. Brian Whitaker was traveling in the southbound direction on Missouri 58 when Jacqueline turned into the path of his vehicle. Brian attempted to swerve to the right of the roadway and avoid collision but collided with her vehicle. Brian’s vehicle then traveled off the roadway and collided with an embankment.

Brian Whitaker received serious injuries from the crash and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Centerpoint Medical Center. Jacqueline Homer was uninjured and did not seek medical attention.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both Jacqueline Homer and Brian Whitaker were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.

Brian’s 2011 Toyota Camry received extensive damages and was towed by Ron’s Towing. Jacqueline’s 2005 Mazda Tribute received moderate damages and was towed by B & L Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop A and the Johnson County Sheriff Department.
