In Ray County, three participants in a head-on collision are seriously injured.
On December 6, 2013 at approximately 12:00 p.m., Jared Payne, age 33 of Kansas City, Missouri was operating a 2013 Ford along with Melissa Leverknight, age 32 of Kansas City, Missouri. Christina Desselle, age 47 of Richmond, Missouri was operating a 2003 Pontiac.
At that said date and time, Jared Payne was traveling in the eastbound direction while Christina Desselle was traveling in the westbound direction on Missouri Highway 10 at Ridgeway Drive. The crash occurred as Jared Payne crossed the center line and traveled into the westbound lanes of oncoming traffic and collided with Christina’s vehicle head-on.
Christina Desselle and Melissa Leverknight received serious injuries and were transported to North Kansas City Hospital by Ray County EMS. Jared Payne received serious injuries and was transported as well by Ray County EMS to Liberty Hospital.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, neither Melissa Leverknight nor Jared Payne was wearing their seat belt at the time of the collision.
Melissa Leverknight’s 2003 Pontiac received total damages and wa towed by Rite Way Towing. Jared Payne’s 2013 Ford received extensive damages and was towed by Shoemakers Towing.
This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop A and the Wood Heights Police Department.
