Head-on Collision in Stone County

In Stone County, a head-on collision moderately injures two people after the at-fault driver swerved across the center line in attempt to avoid collision with another vehicle.

On January 9, 2014 at approximately 9:20 a.m., Agustin Martinez-Juarez, age 44 of Branson, Missouri was operating a 2001 Plymouth Neon. Patricia Herbert, age 51 of Aurora, Missouri was operating a 2011 Hyundai Sonata.

At that said date and time, Agustin was traveling in the westbound direction while Patricia was traveling in the eastbound direction on Highway 76 and 1.5 miles east of Silver Dollar City. The crash occurred as Patricia tired to avoid an uninvolved truck sliding into the eastbound lane but crossed the center line and collided with Agustin’s vehicle head-on.

Agustin and Patricia both received moderate injuries and were transported by Mercy EMS to Cox Branson Hospital in Branson, Missouri.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both Agustin and Patricia were wearing their seat belts during the time of the collision.

Agustin’s 2001 Plymouth Neon received total damages and was towed by Larry’s Wrecker of Kimberling City. Patricia’s 2011 Hyundai Sonata received total damages and was towed by Chris’s Wrecker of Lampe.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop D, Stone County Sheriff’s Department, Branson West Police Department, and Southern County Fire Department.
