On January 8, 2014 at approximately 7:20 a.m., Seth Pendleton, age 22 of Williamsburg, Kansas was operating a 2002 Mercury Sable along with passengers: Richard Baker (22) of Iberia, Missouri; Skylr Zeigenebein (20) of Crocker, Missouri; and Faith Sander (19) of Crocker, Missouri. Vicky Martin, age 49 of Iberia, Missouri was operating a 2003 Chevrolet 1500.
At that said date and time, Seth Pendleton was traveling in the southbound direction while Vicky Martin was traveling in the northbound direction on Tavern Creek Road and 1.2 miles south of Highway 42. The crash occurred as Seth Pendleton was traveling too fast for conditions on the snowy roadway when he lost control and traveled into the lanes of oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with Vicky Martin’s vehicle.
Faith Sander and Seth Pendleton received serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. Richard Baker was seriously injured and transported by personal convenience to Lake Regional Hospital. Skylr Zeigenbein received minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene of the crash.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, none of the passengers inside Seth’s vehicle, including himself, were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Vicky Martin was uninjured and did not seek medical attention.
This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop F.
