Stone County Crash Involving Snowy Roadway

In Stone County, two Shell Knob residents are moderately injured after one driver crossed the center line during snowy conditions and collided head-on with another vehicle.

On January 8, 2014 at approximately 4:47 p.m., Michael Addington, age 63 of Shell Knob, Missouri was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Kim Rud, age 51 of Shell Knob, Missouri was operating a 2005 Dodge Caravan.

At that said date and time, Michael was traveling in the northbound direction while Kim was traveling in the southbound direction on Missouri Highway 39 and four miles north of Carr Lane. The crash occurred as Michael crossed the center line during snowy roadway conditions and collided with Kim’s vehicle nearly head-on. From the impact, Kim’s vehicle was forced off the roadway and traveled into a ditch.

Kim Rud and Michael Addington both received moderate injuries and were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Michael Knob was not wearing his seat belt during the time of the collision.

Kim’s 2005 Dodge Caravan received total damages and was towed by Moore’s Lakeside Towing. Also, Michael’s 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer received total damages and was towed by Table Rock Auto Clinic.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop D.
