On January 6, 2014, at approximately 6:10 p. m., Derrick Knifong, age 19 of Meadville, Missouri was operating a 1999 Oldsmobile. Derrick had two passengers, William Devaul age 17 of Meadville, Missouri, and Trevor Corzette, age 18 of Meadville, Missouri.
At that said date and time, Derrick Knifong approached a right hand curve and lost control going into a broad side. Derrick went off the left side of the road striking a corner post. Derrick’s vehicle came to a rest off the west side of the roadway facing west.
Trevor Corzette received serious injuries and was taken by Grundy County Ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital and then transported to St. Lukes on the Plaza, in Kansas City. William Devaul received moderate injuries and was taken by Grundy County EMT to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton. Derrick Knifong received moderate injuries and was taken by Grundy County EMT to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Derrick’s 1999 Oldsmobile received extensive damages and was towed by K and J Auto.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol all were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop H, and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department.
