Vehicle Turns Into Oncoming Traffic

In Christian County, a two-year-old child and a teenager are moderately injured after the at-fault driver turned into the path of oncoming traffic, colliding with the vehicle.

On January 12, 2014 at approximately 9:55 a.m., Taylor McMullen, age 16 of Oldfield, Missouri was operating a 2005 Pontiac. Jefferson Campbell, age 36 of Ozark, Missouri was operating a 2001 Nissan along with Charles Campbell, age 2 of Ozark, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Taylor McMullen was traveling in the southbound direction while Jefferson Campbell was traveling in the northbound direction on Route W and four miles south of Ozark. The crash occurred as Taylor made a left turn into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with Jefferson’s vehicle.

Charles Campbell received minor injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Jefferson Campbell received moderate injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital. Taylor McMullen received moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jefferson Campbell was the only participant that was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Jefferson Campbell’s 2001 Nissan received extensive damages and was towed by Blue Monkey of Sparta. Taylor McMullen’s 2005 Pontiac received extensive damages and was towed by Wuertley Towing of Ozark.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop D.
