Motorcyclists Injured in Deer Collision Crash

In Wright County, two people are injured after colliding with a deer in the roadway and ejecting from the motorcycle.

On March 20, 2014 at approximately 7:52 p.m., Jack Sprague, age 51 of Norwood, Missouri was operating a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle along with passenger Tammy Herbert, age 48 of Nordwood, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Jack was traveling in the westbound direction on Missouri Highway ZZ and four miles southwest of Mountain Grove. The crash occurred as Jack’s motorcycle collided with a deer in the roadway, causing both Jack and his passenger to eject from the motorcycle.

Tammy Herbert received serious injuries and was transported by air evacuation to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Jack Sprague received minor injuries and did not seek medical treatment at the scene of the crash.

Jack’s 2010 Harley Davidson received minor damages and was towed later by a family member.

This motorcycle crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop G.
