Three Car Crash in Stone County

In Stone County, an eastbound driver crossed the center line causing it to strike another vehicle and hit a vehicle head-on.

On July 6, 2014 at approximately 11:18 p.m., Amy Mendoza, age 34 of Branson, Missouri was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt. Kenneth Kelly, age 32 of Springfield, Missouri was operating a 1995 Ford F150. Steven Vanderbok, age 43 of Oak Park, California was operating a 1997 Toyota Camry with passengers Benjamin Vanderbok, age 9, Zoe Vanderbok, age 7, and Gina Main, age 39 of Oak Park, California.

At that said date and time, Amy Mendoza was traveling eastbound on Missouri 76 when she crossed the center line and struck Kenneth Kelly. Kenneth’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. Amy’s vehicle then hit Steven Vanderbok Head-on.

Amy Mendoza received serious injuries and was taken by Mercy Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Steven Vanderbok received moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital by Mercy ambulance. Gina Main, Zoe Vanderbok, and Benjamin Vanderbok all received minor injuries and were taken by Mercy Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Kenneth Kelly didn’t receive any injuries.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all involved in this three car crash were wearing their seat belts at the accident.

Amy’s 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt received total damages and was towed by Chris Towing in Lampe, Missouri. Kenneth’s 1995 Ford F150 received extensive damages and was towed by Larry’s Towing in Brandon West, Missouri. Steven’s 1997 Toyota Camry received total damages and was towed by Chris Towing in Lampe, Missouri.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol with the assistance of Troop D.
