Vehicle Loses Control Causing Vehicle to Overturn

In Adair County, two people are left with minor injuries due to a two car collision, causing one vehicle to slide off the road and overturn.

On August 10, 2014, at approximately 4:14am, Rebecca Whitmire, age 16, of Hurdland, Missouri was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt. Lori Robertson, age 46 of Kirksville, Missouri, was operating a 1993 Dodge Dakota. Robertson was accompanied by passenger Wayne McFarland, age 50, also of Kirksville, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Rebecca Whitmire traveled into the path of Lori Robertson’s’ vehicle, causing Robertson’s vehicle to swerve off the left side of the roadway and overturn. Whitmire’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking a guard rail.

Lori Robertson received minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Adair County Ambulance. Robertson was then released. Wayne McFarland received minor injuries and was also treated at the scene by Adair County Ambulance and later released. Rebecca was not injured.

Rebecca’s 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt received moderate damages and was towed by Kirksville Auto Works. Lori’s 1993 Dodge Dakota received total damages and was towed by Kirksville Auto Works.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol it is unknown at this time if all parties involved were wearing safety devices.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, assisted by Adair County Sherriff’s Department and with the assistance of Trooper G.
