Saline County, Missouri- Marshall man has serious injuries, resulting from a rear-ended car crash on US Highway 65. Carl Girard, 43, of Marshall Missouri, was seriously injured in a car crash on Tuesday August 11th, at approximately 11:30AM.
The crash occured when Carl Girard, southbound on US Highway 65 at Route H, changed lanes and began braking to make a left hand turn. Girard’s 2005 Chevrolet, was rear-ended by a 2015 Ford, driven by Kelby Case, 22, also from Marshall Missouri.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s report, Girard was transported by Life Flight helicopter, to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. Mr. Girard’s vehicle was overturned, coming to a rest on its top, in the median. Case’s Ford, travelled off the right-hand side of the highway and caught fire. Case and his passenger, Jonathan Scarborough, 16, of Marshall, were both wearing their safety devices and were taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital with moderate injuries. Girard was not wearing his safety device at the time of the crash.
The crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop A’s, Tpr. T.L. Holston 844 with assistance from Tpr. N.A. Perez 1426 and Saline County EMS.
