BOONE COUNTY, Mo –

If you are from northern Boone County, chances are you know someone from the Bowne family. We are sad to learn that this morning’s car crash on Highway 63 claimed the life of Ron Bowne, 62, of Clark, Missouri. The two vehicle crash occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. and involved a box truck that was merging onto Highway 63 South, according to reports.

Ronald Bowne, 62, of Clark Missouri was pronounced dead by Boone County Ambulance EMT, Stephanie Kelly, at approximately 6:50 a.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Report, Ron Bowne’s 2002 Pontiac Sunfire rear-ended a 1999 Freightliner box truck, driven by Travis Morrison, 28, of Sturgeon. It is reported that Ron Bowne was traveling southbound near Breedlove Drive. It is not clear Tuesday why Bowne’s car ran into the truck although some reports have stated that the box truck was merging onto the highway. It was also noted on the Missouri State Highway Patrol report that Mr. Bowne was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to both the Bowne and Morrison families during this difficult time.
