Phelps County Missouri-
Multiple Accidents occurred all over ice and snow covered roads in southern Missouri on Sunday.
This particular accident occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred when a 2013 Volvo Tractor Trailer driven by David Stojkovic, 23, of Mount Prospect, IL., lost control of his tractor trailer on the snow covered interstate and crash into vehicles that were stopped in traffic.
According to the report, Stojkovic’s tractor trailer crashed into the following vehicles; a 2011 Honda Civic driven by Jack Hobbs of St. Peters Missouri, a 2018 Kenworth Tractor Trailer driven by Mark Girardeau, 53, of register, GA., and the 2012 Chrysler Minivan driven by Pitts Lesesne, 57, of Rolla Missouri.
The severity of the crash caused the Lesesne’s Chrysler Minivan to crash into a 2013 Ram pickup truck driven by Jonathon Coleman, 36 of St. Clair Missouri, which then crashed into a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Michael Kohler, 51, of Duncan, Oklahoma.
Pitts Lesesne and his wife Paula Lesesne, 53, and a passenger in the Chrysler Minivan are both from Rolla Missouri. They both suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Phelps County Regional Medical Center by Phelps County Ambulance.
All of the vehicles came to rest blocking eastbound, I-44 traffic and C & C Towing assisted in cleaning up the accident and towed away the Volvo Tractor Trailer that caused the crash, the Honda Civic and the Lesesne’s Chrysler Minivan that were both totaled in the serious crash.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pitts and Paula Lesesne of Rolla Missouri. We pray for a speedy and complete recovery.
