Alice E. Ralston of Holden, MO was struck and killed when attempting to cross the street.


Holden, MO.- On Sunday evening October 25, 2015 at approximately 7:00 p.m., a 69 year old woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck, while she was attempting to cross South Olive Street, at the intersection of West 3rd Street, in Holden, MO.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol report states, that Mitchel A. Young, 17, also of Holden, was traveling south on South Olive Street, in a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. Young attempted to stop in time, but struck Alice E. Ralston, 69, of Holden, as she was crossing the street. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Johnson County, along with assistance from the Holden Police Department, responded to the scene.

Alice E. Ralston was transported to Lees Summit Medical Center by Johnson County EMS, where she was pronounced dead by Dr. Michael Watts, around 8:20 p.m.

Young’s pickup truck had minor damage and was driven from the scene. Mitchel A. Young had auto insurance through American Family Insurance.

This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 41st fatality accident of 2015.
