Boone County, Missouri Crash Leads to Serious Injuries for Motorcyclist

Missouri woman is ejected from her motorcycle when another driver fails to yield.

On October 2, 2011 at approximately 1:34 p.m., 52 year old Donna Leonard of Boonville, Missouri was operating a 2007 Harley Davidson traveling southbound on Route O at Brome Road. At that said time and place, 40 year old Stacey Lee of Fulton, Missouri was operating a 2001 Dodge traveling northbound on Route O.

Lee then attempted to make a left turn onto Brome Road and drove into the path of Leonard’s motorcycle. Lee’s vehicle then struck Leonard. Leonard then travelled off the right side of the roadway, and was ejected from her motorcycle.

Donna Leonard was transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance to University Hospital with serious injuries. The at-fault driver, Stacey Lee, was not injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.

Leonard’s motorcycle received total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Carl’s Towing of Columbia. The at-fault vehicle received only minor damage in the crash and was driven from the scene. The at-fault driver did possess insurance coverage for her vehicle at the time of the crash; however, it is unknown whether the injured driver possessed insurance coverage.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper M. Halford of Troop F and was assisted by Trooper B. Germann.
