On August 10, 2011 at approximately 10:30 a.m., 59 year old Jacqueline McCormack of Polo, Missouri, was operating a 1987 Toyota van traveling southbound on MO 13, about .5 miles south of Polo. At that said time and place, 71 year old Richard Williams of Cowgill, Missouri, was operating a 1995 Oldsmobile traveling northbound on MO 13.
At that time, Williams crossed the center line and struck the driver’s side of McCormack’s vehicle. Both vehicles slid off the west side of the roadway where they came to a stop.
McCormack was transported from the scene of the crash by Caldwell County EMS to Cameron Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. Williams, the at-fault driver, refused treatment at the scene of the crash but did suffer minor injuries. Both individuals involved in this crash were wearing their safety devices.
The McCormack vehicle received total damage in the crash but was not towed from the scene initially. The owner planned to return to the scene to tow the vehicle with personal equipment. The at-fault vehicle was also totaled in the crash and was towed from the scene by Walkers of Hamilton, Missouri.
This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper DA Landi and was assisted by Caldwell County SO and Polo Fire and Rescue.
