Collision with Deer Increases for Motorcyclists

In Jefferson and Pulaski County, two motorcyclists are seriously injured after they collide with deer.

On November 21, 2012 at approximately 11:45 a.m., Robert Sparks, age 62 from Barnhart, Missouri was operating a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle. Robert was traveling in the eastbound direction on Route M, west of 1-55, when the collision with the deer occurred. The impact from the collision caused Robert to eject from his motorcycle.

Robert received serious injuries and was transported by Rock Township to St. Anthony’s Hospital. Robert Spark’s 2006 Kawasaki received minor damages from the collision and was towed by Timco Towing.

On November 21, 2012 at approximately 3:44 p.m., Danny Blue, age 57 from Dixon, Missouri was operating a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle. Danny was traveling in the eastbound direction on Highway DD, west of Brewster Lane. The crash occurred as Danny collided with the deer and was ejected from his motorcycle.

Danny Blue received serious injuries from the collision and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Danny Blue’s 2007 Yamaha received moderate damages and was towed by Rothmund’s Towing.

According to the crash reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both motorists were wearing safety gear during the time of the incidents.

These motorcycle crashes were investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop I and C.
