On October 9, 2011 at approximately 4:15 p.m., 70 year old Anthony Bartal of Columbia, Missouri was operating a 2005 Buick traveling westbound on Rt WW at Rolling Hills Road. Bartal’s vehicle was occupied by himself and passenger, 78 year old Robert Boxley also of Columbia, Missouri.
At that time and place, 23 year old Krista Hedrick of Imperial, Missouri was operating a 2001 Ford also traveling westbound on Rt WW, directly behind in Bartal vehicle. Hedrick failed to slow for the Bartal vehicle traveling directly in front of her and struck Bartal in the rear.
Driver Anthony Bartal was taken by ambulance from the scene of the crash to Boone Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries. Bartal’s passenger, Robert Boxley, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries he received in the crash. The at-fault driver, Krista Hedrick, was uninjured in the crash.
All parties involved were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash. Both drivers possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles. The Bartal and Hedrick vehicles sustained extensive damage in the crash and were towed from the scene by Carl’s Towing.
This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper A. Helfrecht of Troop F and was assisted by Trooper G. Gundy.
