Cooper County Rollover Crash Results in Serious Injuries

In Cooper County, three Gladstone residents are seriously injured after the driver failed to operate and maintain his vehicle on the roadway which caused the car to overturn several times.

On January 29, 2013 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Ronald Johnson, age 40 from Gladstone, Missouri was operating a 2009 Subaru Forrester. Tyler Murry, age 8, and Jill Epesten, age 44, were the only two passengers inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.

At that said date and time, Ronald Johnson was traveling in the eastbound direction on Interstate 70 at the 88.2 mile marker. The crash occurred as Ronald failed to maintain and operate his vehicle on the roadway, this caused the vehicle to overturn several times. Johnson and his passengers were temporarily trapped inside the vehicle after the vehicle came to a final rest. They were extricated by Cooper County Fire Protection District’s rescue personnel.

Jill Epesten and Tyler Murry received serious injuries and were transported by Cooper County Medics to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Ronald Johnson received moderate injuries and was transported as well by the Cooper County Medics to the University Hospital.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all the occupants of this crash were wearing their seat belts during the time of the crash.

Ronald Johnson’s 2009 Subaru Forrester received total damages and was towed by Nash Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop F and the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department.
