Crash Caused by Failure to Yield

In Butler County, moderate and serious injuries are caused by the at-fault driver’s failure to yield.

On November 17, 2013 at approximately 1:35 P. m., Micheal Ryan, age 29 from Fisk, Missouri was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. James Martin, age 55 from Montreal, Missouri was operating a 2013 Hyundai Sonata with passengers Janet Martin, age 54 from Montreal, Missouri, and Peter Martin, age 15 from Montreal, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Micheal Ryan was heading northbound and James Martin was heading westbound on US 60. Micheal failed to yield and struck James martin’s vehicle.

Micheal Ryan received serious injuries and was taken by Air Evac to St. Francis in Cape Girardeau. James, Janet, and Peter all received moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all the participants except Micheal Ryan were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

Micheal Ryan’s 2005 Chevrolet Equinox received total damages and was towed by Swanks Towing. James Martin’s 2013 Hyundai Sonata received total damages and was towed by Swanks Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop E.
