Crash Occurs as Tire is Blown and Driver Loses Control

In Platte County, five occupants in the same vehicle all receive minor injuries to serious injuries as the driver lost control due to the tire’s blow out.

On September 5, 2011 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Driver Kye Win, 38, of Kansas City, Missouri was operating a 2005 Kia Sedona and traveling in the northbound direction of I-29 at Route E. The other four occupants; 40 year old Say Hai, 48 year old Poe Lay, 48 year old Ze Paw, and Moo Gue, whose information is unknown are residents of the Kansas City area.

At that said time and place, Kye Win was traveling northbound on I-29 and suddenly lost control as the front tire blew out. The vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway on Route E and overturned once, ejecting two of his passengers in the vehicle. Finally the vehicle came to a rest on its wheels off of the roadway.

Kye Win did not report any medical injuries, but as for Say Hai, she sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Heartland Hospital for her medical treatment. The other three occupants received minor injuries and were also taken to Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph to seek medical attention for their injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol states that none of the occupants in this crash were wearing any safety devices.

Kye Win’s 2005 Kia Sedona received total damages from this crash and was towed by Express Tow to a lot in Platte City.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol with the assistance of Platte County sheriff Deputies and Troop A.
