Daughter of Missing Woman is Killed in Crash

In Gasconade County, a teenage girl from Bland, Missouri and the daughter of a missing mid-Missouri woman was killed and two other girls were injured during a one-vehicle crash.

On May 24 at approximately 12:51 p.m., Sarah Anderson, age 16 and of Vichy, Missouri was operating a 2002 Ford Ranger and traveling in the westbound direction on Boettcher Road. Passengers in the vehicle along with Sarah was Samantha Lock, age 15 and of Bland, Missouri and Maven Robertson, age 16 and of Wentzville, Missouri.

At that said time and place, Sarah was traveling westbound along Boettcher Road on Missouri Route A when she suddenly skidded off the left side of the roadway. Sarah was unable to control the vehicle as it struck a tree and after impact the vehicle caught on fire and burned.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it was unknown if the participants were wearing their seat belts.

Samantha Lock was pronounced dead by Gasconade County coroner, Ben Grosse, at 3:10 p.m. Samantha Lock was taken to Sassmann’s Funeral Home in Belle, Missouri. Maven Robertson received serious injuries from the crash and was life flighted by Air Evacuation to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. Sarah Anderson received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Phelps County Regional Medical Center.

Sarah Anderson’s 2002 Ford Ranger received total damages and was towed by Cook’s Towing.

The group Missouri Missing announced that Samantha was the daughter of Jasmine Haslag, who went missing in June 2007 in Russellville, after telling her three young children she would pick them up the next day. Her case was ruled a homicide in 2008, but her case remains unsolved.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop F. This is troop F’s 3rd fatality for May and 25th fatality for 2012.
