Dog Crash Fatally Injures Motorcyclist

In Crawford County, a motorcyclist is killed after he collided with a dog in the roadway.

On August 3, 2013 at approximately 4:05 p.m., Kevin Conaway, age 43 of House Springs, Missouri was operating a 2005 Honda Motorcycle.

At that said date and time, Kevin Conaway was traveling in the westbound direction on Sig Bass Road and 12 miles south of Steelville, Missouri. The crash occurred as Kevin was traveling along the roadway when he collided with a dog in the roadway, causing the motorcycle to overturn.

Kevin Conaway received serious injuries and was airlifted by Arch Helicopter to St. Mercy Medical Center in critical condition. On August 7, 2013 Kevin was pronounced dead by Dr. Farid Sadaka at 8:20 p.m.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kevin Conaway was not wearing any safety equipment at the time of the collision.

Kevin’s 2005 Honda Motorcycle received minor damages and was removed from the scene of the crash by a family member.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop I. This is Troop I’s 12th fatality for 2013.
