Driver Dies After Collision With Tree

In Pulaski County, the driver of one vehicle dies at the crash scene after he collides with a tree.

On September 19, 2012 at approximately 12:55 p.m., Ralph McCollum, age 68 and from Dixon, Missouri was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier. Ralph McCollum was traveling in the northbound direction on Missouri highway 28, one mile north of Dixon, Missouri.

At that said time and place, Ralph McCollum was traveling in the northbound direction on Missouri highway 28. The crash occurred as Ralph drove off the right side of the roadway and collided with a tree.

Ralph suffered very serious injuries and was in critical condition. Ralph was flown to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri and was pronounced dead later on September 21, 2012 by Dr. Christine Brock.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ralph was reported to not be wearing his seat belt during the time of the crash.

Ralph McCollum’s 2004 Chevrolet received total damages from the collision with the tree and was towed by Davis Towing.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop I by trooper Kenneth Baldwin.
