In Jefferson County, a De Soto man is killed after he crosses the center line and collides head-on with another vehicle and seriously injuring the driver.
On January 31, 2013 at approximately 1:34 p.m., Arthur Guenther, age 84 from De Soto, Missouri was operating a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis. Kenneth Nappier, age 68 from Bonne Terre, Missouri was operating a 2008 Nissan Titan.
At that said date and time, Arthur was traveling in the westbound direction as Kenneth Nappier was in the eastbound direction on Missouri Route 110 and west of upper Plattin Road. The collision occurred as Arthur crossed the double yellow center line and the front of his vehicle collided with the front of Kenneth’s vehicle.
Arthur Guenther was pronounced dead at the scene by Valle Ambulance District personnel and then taken to St. Louis County Morgue by Schaeffer Mortuary. Kenneth Nappier was seriously injured and transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center by Valle ambulance.
Arthur Guenther’s 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis and Kenneth Nappier’s 2008 Nissan Titan received total damages and was towed by Tom’s Towing.
This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop C.
