Failure to Yield Moderately Injures Two

In Newton County, two family members are moderately injured after another vehicle fails to yield and collides with their vehicle.

On January 27, 2013 at approximately 1:50 p.m., Larry Kichler, age 62 from Sherwood, Arkansas was operating a 2006 Kia. Valorie Kichler, age 33 from Sherwood, Arkansas was the only passenger in Larry’s vehicle at the time of the crash. Jonathan Sage, age 48 from Neosho, Missouri was operating a 2002 Ford Truck.

At that said date and time, Larry Kichler was traveling in the eastbound direction as Jonathan Sage was in the southbound direction on Highway 60 and 5 miles east of Seneca. The crash occurred as the southbound vehicle, Jonathan Sage, merged and failed to yield to eastbound traffic, colliding with Larry Kichler.

Larry and Valorie Kichler received moderate injuries from the collision and were transported by EMS to Mercy Hospital of Joplin, Missouri. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all occupants of this crash were wearing their seat belts during the time of the collision.

Jonathan Sage’s 2002 Ford truck received total damages and was towed by Affordable Towing of Neosho. Larry Kichler’s 2006 Kia received total damages and was towed by Doug’s Wrecker of Seneca.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop D.
