Fatal Accident in McDonald County

In McDonald County, the at-fault vehicle pulls into the path of oncoming traffic and collides with the vehicle on the passenger side, killing the passenger.

On March 20, 2012 at approximately 7:45 a.m., Jossian Reser, age 57 and of Collinsville, Oklahoma was operating a 2007 Infiniti and traveling in the westbound direction of US 71. Judith Duncan, age 67, and her husband Gale, age 70 and both from Bellavista, Arkansas was operating a 2011 Toyota Prius and traveling in the northbound direction on US 71.

At that said time and place, Jossian was attempting to make a left turn on US 71 when she pulled into the path of oncoming traffic. Judith, operating the vehicle, was traveling along US 71 in the northbound direction with her husband, Gale, in the passenger seat. As Jossian turned onto US 71 she collided with the passenger side of Judith’s vehicle.

Gale Duncan was pronounced dead by coroner, Don Ruby, and was transported to Walker-Doud Funeral Home in Anderson, Arkansas. Gale’s wife, Judith, received minor injuries from the crash as she was taken to Northwest Regional Hospital in Bentonville, Arkansas. Jossian Reser received minor injuries and was taken to Northwest Regional Hospital.

Judith Duncan’s 2011 Prius and Jossian Reser’s 2007 Infiniti received extensive damages and both were towed by Gardner’s Towing of Pineville.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop D. This is troop D’s 16th fatality for 2012.
