Fatal Crash in St. Charles County


In St. Charles County, a Wentzville woman is killed in a head-on collision crash.

On March 9, 2013 at approximately 9:12 p.m., Randal Phillips, age 38 from Lake St. Louis, Missouri was operating a 2006 Ford F-350. Lauren Hollingsworth-Smith, age 29 from Wentzville, Missouri was operating a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox.

At that said date and time, Randal Phillips was traveling in the eastbound direction as Lauren Hollingsworth-Smith was traveling in the westbound direction on Highway N and one mile east of Perry Cate Boulevard. The head-on collision occurred as Lauren Hollingsworth-Smith traveled across the center and collided with Randal Phillips’ vehicle head-on.

Lauren Hollingsworth-Smith was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Charles County medic. Lauren was taken to the St. Louis County Morgue Lonning’s Mortuary Service. Randal Phillips received minor injuries from the head-on collision and was transported by the St. Charles County ambulance to St. Joseph’s West Hospital.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, neither Randal nor Lauren was wearing their seat belts during the time of the collision.

Randal Phillips’ 2006 Ford F-350 and Lauren Hollingsworth’s 2011 Chevrolet Equinox received total damages and both were towed by Crash City Tow.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop C.
