Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Boone County

In Boone County, The driver of a motorcycle was killed after and SUZ failed to yield.

On May 28, 2014 at approximately 1:40 p.m., Lynelle Pace, age 51 of Columbia, Missouri was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson. Michael Brooks, age 66 of Columbia, Missouri was operating a 2012 Ford Escape.

At that said date and time, Michael Brooks was traveling westbound on the exit ramp from I-70 to Route Z. Michael had stopped but failed to yield to on-coming driver Lynelle Pace pulling into her path. Lynelle then struck Michael’s SUZ causing her to be ejected from her bike.

Lynelle Pace was pronounced dead at 2:14 p.m., by University Hospital Dr. C. Nelson. Lynelle was transported to Boone County Medical Examiner’s office. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report it is unknown if Michael sought medical attention.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Both Lynelle and Michael were wearing Safety Devices at the time of the accident.

Lynelle’s 2006 Harley Davidson received moderate damages and was towed by Carl’s Towing in Columbia, Missouri. Michael’s 2012 Ford Escape received moderate damages and was towed by Carl’s Towing.

This motorcycle fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop F. This fatal crash is Troop F’s 7th fatality for May, and 22nd for 2014.
