Fatal Passenger in Warren County Crash

In Warren County, the passenger of a one-vehicle crash is killed after he is ejected from the vehicle.

On January 12, 2013 at approximately 10:05 a.m., Marcus Jones, age 51 from Wright City, Missouri was operating a 2001 Ford Focus. Joyce Mullen, age 64 from Warrenton, Missouri was the only passenger in Marcus’ vehicle at the time of the crash.

At that said date and time, Marcus Jones was traveling in the eastbound direction on a north outer road and .10 mile west of Winding Woods. The crash occurred as Marcus was traveling eastbound on the north outer road and lost control of the vehicle and exited the roadway on the right and collided with a tree. Upon impact, Joyce Mullen was ejected through the rear passenger window.

Joyce Mullen was pronounced dead by Warren County coroner, Roger Muzzey, and then transported to Martin’s Funeral Home. Marcus Jones received moderate injuries from the crash and was taken by air evacuation to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. According to the crash report, Marcus Jones was the only occupant in this crash to be wearing his seat belt.

Marcus Jones’ 2001 Ford Focus received total damages and was towed by May’s Towing.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop C.
