In Scott County, one man is pronounced dead after crossing the center lane and striking another vehicle in a head-on crash.

On August 27, 2011 at approximately 8:50 p.m., 43 year old Clayton Martin from Sikeston, Missouri was operating a 1985 Chevrolet Cavalier, traveling in the eastbound direction of MO Route Y, one mile west of Sikeston. 27 year old Stacy Rodgers of Sikeston, Missouri operated a 2005 Ford Explorer traveling in the westbound direction.
At that time, Clayton Martin was traveling east and crossed the center lane and then struck Stacy Rodgers head-on. Martin then was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Scott County Coroner, Scott Amick.

Missouri State Highway Patrol indicated that Stacy was wearing her seatbelt while Clayton was found not wearing a safety device during the crash accident.
