Fatality Crash Due to Slick Road

In Livingston County, a man from Chillicothe died when he lost control and overcorrected on the slick roadway.

On July 8, 2012 at approximately 1:20 p.m., James Reynolds, age 21 and from Chillicothe, Missouri was operating a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder and traveling in the southbound direction on Missouri highway A.

At that said time and place, James was traveling south on Missouri highway A, 7 miles northwest of Chillicothe, when he lost control and went off the west side of the roadway. Then, James overcorrected and went off the east side of the road and overturned, ejecting James. Finally, James’ vehicle came to a rest partially on the roadway on its side. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the highway James was traveling on was slick due to the rain.

James Reynolds was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash by the Livingston County coroner, Scott Lindley, and was transported to Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri.

James’ 1999 Nissan Pathfinder received total damages and was towed by the Chillicothe Truck Repair service.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop H.
