In Boone County, a man is killed when he failed to yield and drove into the path of another vehicle.
On February 15, 2012 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Marvin Loftis, age 54 and of Hallsville, Missouri was operating a 1996 International 4900 traveling in the southbound direction of US 63. Stanton Garr, age 55 and of Rothville, Missouri was operating a 2004 Ford Ranger traveling in the westbound direction of US 63.
At that said time and place, Stanton was traveling westbound on US 63 southbound at Calvert Hill Road. Stanton failed to yield to southbound traffic and to Marvin’s vehicle while he was crossing the southbound lanes of US 63 when he pulled into the path of Marvin. Marvin collided with Stanton in his passenger side of the vehicle.
Stanton Garr was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by medical examiner, Dori Burke. Stanton then was taken to Boone County medical examiner’s office. Marvin reported to have minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Boone County hospital.
