A Lincoln county man was killed when he collided with a semi.
On August 19, 2013 at approximately 6pm, Joseph Baker, age 44 of Troy, Missouri was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. Kyle Holder, age 26 of St. Clair, Missouri was operating a 2005 Peterbilt.
At that said date and time, Joseph Baker was traveling northbound on Highway 19 as Kyle Holder was southbound on Highway 19. Joseph Baker for unknown reasons traveled across the center line causing Kyle Holden to have a head-on collision with Joseph. This resulted in both vehicles to be engulfed in flames.
Joseph Baker was pronounced dead at the scene by Denise Goodwin, Ralls county coroner at 6:55pm. Kyle Holden was not injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Kyle Holden was wearing a seat belt. As for Joseph Baker it is unknown whether or not he was wearing a seat belt.
The crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol and assisting were the Ralls County Sheriff’s Department, Ralls County Ambulance, and the fire Department’ s from Center, Hannibal, and New London. This is MSHP’s Troop B 13th fatality this year.
