Five People Die in Apartment Fire

In Wheaton County, five people were trapped in two separate units in an apartment building when a fire broke out and killed them.

On November 22, 2012 at approximately 3:20 a.m., the Wheaton Fire Department responded to an apartment building fire a few blocks from the fire station. When the fire crews arrived at the apartment they found the victims trapped in two separate units in the building, which was fully enflamed.

Two adults and one child were found dead in the one unit and two other adults were found dead in the other, which is one of two eight-unit buildings in the apartment complex. The victims’ identities are Mary Henning, Brandon Thurston, Jay Dimmicke, Molie Doherty, and Corey Hasche.

The second apartment building was affected by the fire, but the residents were evacuated as a precaution.
