Harold V (Bud) Macrander of Forest City, MO was killed in a motor vehicle accident involving a three wheeler.

The crash that claimed Bud Macrander’s life,  happened on Sunday, November 1st, 2015, at approximately 12:20 p.m., in Holt County.

Harold V. (Bud) Macrander, 60, of Forest City, Missouri, was being towed on a 1989 homemade, three wheel motorcycle, in an attempt to start the motorcycle. Mr. Macrander was being towed northbound on MO-111 in Forest City, by a 1994 Ford F150 pickup truck, driven by Scottie L. Grishow, 47, also of Forest City.

The crash occurred as the three wheel motorcycle started. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Report, upon starting, the motorcycle’s throttle was stuck open and overtook Scottie Grishow and the Ford F150 truck. Since the vehicles were still connected by the towing device, the motorcycle slammed into the left front of the truck, flipping and throwing Mr. Macrander off of the left side of the motorcycle.

Bud Macrander was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 1:35pm by Holt County Coroner, Susan Lentz. Bud’s next of kin was immediately notified. His body was taken to Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon, MO.

Scottie Grishow was not injured in the accident.

Investigating the crash from Troop H was Corporal M.R. Heits (636) and Sergeant G.Q. Billings, (361). Assisting was Tpr. N. J. Greiner (626), Tpr. K. L. Eebersold (381), and the County Sheriff’s Department. Double D Towing from Mound City towed the motorcycle from the scene of the accident.
