Head-on Collision in Franklin County


In Franklin County, three people are seriously injured as a result of a head-on collision crash.

On March 15, 2014 at approximately 11:09 a.m., Keith Koeller, age 37 of Hermann, Missouri was operating a 2006 Ford Escape along with passenger Jamie Mikel, age 32 of Montgomery City, Missouri. Patricia Zamenski, age 69 of Berger, Missouri was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

At that said date and time, Keith was traveling in the westbound direction while Patricia was traveling in the eastbound direction on Missouri Highway 100 and just east of New Haven City limits. The crash occurred as Keith crossed the center line and the front of his vehicle collided head-on with Patricia’s vehicle.

Keith Koeller and Jamie Mikel received serious injuries and were both transported by Washington Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital. Patricia Zamenski received serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital by New Haven Ambulance District.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, neither Keith Koeller nor Jamie Mikel was wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.

Keith’s 2006 Ford Escape and Patricia’s 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer both received total damages from the head-on collision. Both vehicles were towed by Sturm’s.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop C.
