Head-on Collision in Perry County

In Perry County, two people are seriously injured in a head-on collision.

On June 4, 2013 at approximately 6:55 a.m., Marcus Pitts, age 23 of Chester, Illinois was operating a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. Brian Stukenbrock, age 44 of House Springs, Missouri was operating a 2005 Dodge pickup truck.

At that said date and time, Marcus Pitts was traveling in the southbound direction as Brian Stukenbrock was traveling in the northbound direction on Missouri Highway 51 and south of the Chester Bridge. The head-on collision occurred as Marcus attempted to pass a tractor-trailer unit and pulled into the path of Brian’s vehicle. The vehicles collided head-on.

Marcus Pitts was seriously injured in the collision and was transported by Perry County ambulance to Chester Memorial Hospital. Brian Stukenbrock received serious injuries from the head-on collision and was flown by Arch helicopter to St. Louis University Medical Center. Later Marcus Pitts was flown by Arch helicopter to St. Louis University Medical Center.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, neither Marcus Pitts nor Brian Stukenbrock was wearing their seat belt at the time of the collision.

Brian Stukenbrock’s 2005 Dodge pickup truck and Marcus Pitts’ 1999 Jeep Wrangler both received total damages from the head-on collision and were towed by Winkler’s Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop C.
