Head-on Collision Injures Five Richmond Residents

In Ray County, five residents of Richmond, Missouri are injured after a head-on collision.

On September 2, 2012 at approximately 12:53 p.m., Tami Battagler, age 31, was operating a 2001 Dodge Grand Carivan traveling in the westbound direction. Her 12-year-old daughter, Taiyah Elliot, was in the passenger seat of the vehicle during the time of the crash. Magdalen King, age 26, was operating a 2010 Kia Soul and traveling in the eastbound direction. Frank Hill, age 49, was in the passenger seat of Magdalen’s vehicle during the time of the crash .

At that said time and place, Tami Battagler was traveling westbound and Magdalen King was traveling eastbound on east 116th Street, just east of Missouri highway 13. The crash occurred as Magdalen King crossed over the center line and collided with Tami Battagler head-on.

Tami Battagler received moderate injuries and Taiyah Elliot received minor injuries from the crash. Both were transported by EMS to Lafayette County Regional Hospital. Magdalen King received serious injuries from the head-on collision and was transported by Life Flight Eagle to Centerpoint Hospital. Magdalen’s passenger, Frank Hill, received minor injuries and was transported by EMS to Ray County Memorial.

Tami Battagler’s 2001 Dodge Grand Carivan and Magdalen King’s 2010 Kia Soul received extensive damages and were both towed by Carmichael’s Towing.

This head-on collision was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop A. Investigation still continues with charges pending.
