On May 2, 2013 around 3:29 p.m., Daphne M. Runge, age 42 of Winfield, MO, was operating a 1999 BMW z3 convertible. Judy D. Compton, age 67 of Winfield, MO, was operating a 2006 Pontiac G6.
At that said date and time, Runge was driving westbound on East MO 47, while Compton was in the eastbound lane. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident occurred when Compton crossed the center line and struck Runge head-on.
Runge was taken by air evacuation helicopter to Mercy Hospital Creve Coeur where she passed away early Friday morning by Dr. Bhavana Choudhary. Compton was taken to Lincoln County Medical Center by Arch Helicopter where she was later pronounced dead by Dr. Nabin Choudhary. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
Runge’s 1999 BMW z3 and Compton’s 2006 Pontiac G6 received total damages and were towed from the scene by El Rancho Towing.
The Bank of Old Monroe has set up a Runge Family Children’s fund to receive donations.
This fatality accident was investigated by Trooper R. R. Davis of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C.
