In Webster County, a woman and her family are traveling on I-44 when she fell asleep at the wheel and injured her four passengers.
On June 15, 2012 at 1:55 p.m., Morgan Johnson, age 31 and of Chicago, Illinois was operating a 2009 Dodge Journey and traveling in the westbound direction on I-44. Along with Morgan in the vehicle was her family; Jakya (3), Jaylen (8), Shalise (12), and Shamise (28).
At that said time and place, Morgan was traveling westbound on I-44, 6 miles east of Marshfield, Missouri when she suddenly fell asleep behind the wheel. Due to the driver’s negligence, the vehicle ran off the roadway and collided with the guard rail.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Morgan Johnson was uninjured and did not seek medical treatment. Shamise Johnson received minor injuries and was transported to the Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Shalise and Jaylen Johnson received moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to the Cox Hospital, while Jakya Johnson suffered with serious injuries and was also transported to the Cox South Hospital.
Morgan Johnson’s 2009 Dodge Journey received total damages and was towed by Marshfield Towing.
This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop D by Sergeant Shane Monk.
