Jefferson City Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries After Being Struck by Vehicle

Jefferson City resident is sent to the hospital with injuries after being struck by a truck as she attempted to cross a roadway.

On June 22, 2011 at approximately 11:45 a.m., 22 year old Serenity Crump was attempting to walk across Missouri Boulevard in front of a K-Mart in Jefferson City, Missouri. At that said time and place, 20 year old Abby Luetkemeyer of Jefferson City, was operating a 2002 Chevrolet truck attempting to turn left out of the K-Mart parking lot. Luetkemeyer then drove her vehicle into the center lane in an attempt to merge into the eastbound lanes of Missouri Boulevard. Luetkemeyer then struck Crump as she was attempting to walk across Missouri Boulevard.

Sereneity Crump sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to an Emergency Room at a local hospital for treatment. The at-fault driver, Abby Luetkemeyer, sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Luetkemeyer was carrying five passengers ranging from age 7 to 30. Police say that Luetkemeyer was using the center lane of Missouri Boulevard incorrectly when she struck Crump, the pedestrian. Further details of the collision are unknown at this time.
