Katelynn Sizemore of Clarence Missouri is Seriously Injured in Head-On Auto Crash


Clarence, Missouri —

A Shelbyville man is dead after a terrible, wrong way collision on Highway 36 between Macon and Clarence Missouri.

The head-on collision occurred on Monday evening just after 5:00 p.m.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol report states, Albin Covington, 84, of Shelbyville Missouri, was travelling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 36, when his 2001 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck collided head-on with a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Katelynn Sizemore, 17, of Clarence, Missouri.

Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway.

Katelynn Sizemore suffered serious injuries and was transported by Macon County Ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Macon and then an Air Evac, flew her to University Hospital in Columbia.

Mr. Covington was pronounced dead at approximately 6:54 p.m., at Samaritan Hospital in Macon Missouri, by Dr. Keller.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s online crash report #170757172, states that both drivers were wearing a seat belt.

Stills Towing of Macon assisted in towing both of the totaled vehicles from the scene.

The accident was investigated by Tpr Halley, 652, of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop B. He was assisted by MSGT. Roberts, 985, Tpr. Gipson, 1164, The Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Macon County Rural Fire Department, Macon County EMS and the Macon County 1st Responders.
