On August 4, 2012 at approximately 6:00 PM, 70-year-old Thomas Dames from Troy, Missouri was heading south in a 1992 Chevrolet S10 on Route H at Geeding Road in Lincoln County. Mary Dames, age 65 from Troy, Missouri, was a passenger in Mr. Dames’ vehicle. At said time and place, Tamra Williams, age 51, from Lake St. Louis, Missouri was heading north while operating a 1993 Ford Explorer.
The crash occurred when Williams attempted to avoid an unknown vehicle in the traffic lane. She lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center line, and crashed into Dames’ vehicle head on. Dames traveled off the right side of the road and overturned.
Thomas Dames was killed and pronounced dead en route to the hospital by EMS personnel at 7:22 PM. He was then transported from the scene of the crash to Mercy Medical Creve Coeur by Air Evacuation. Mary Dames suffered moderate injuries and was transported to St. Joseph West by Lincoln County EMS. Williams suffered minor injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to St. Joseph East by Lincoln County EMS.
Dames’ Chevrolet received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Brian’s Towing of Troy, Missouri. Williams’ Ford received moderate damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Brian’s Towing.
